NEBRASKA DEPARTMENT OF REVENUE
ANNOUNCES APRIL 17, 2007 DUE DATE
LINCOLN -- State Tax Commissioner Douglas Ewald announced Friday that 2006 individual income tax returns will have an April 17, 2007 due date following announcement Wednesday by the Internal Revenue Service of this date as the due date for filing federal tax returns. Nebraska law requires the state to have the same dates for filing as under Federal law.
The Internal Revenue Service is extending the due date since the traditional April 15 filing date falls on a Sunday this year and April 16 is Emancipation Day, a legal holiday in the District of Columbia.
